Restaurant “Plyos Beer House” in Plyos

Historic Brewery Restaurant

The Plyos Beer House is intertwined with the history of local brewing, which dates back to the 18th century. According to legend, the house belonged to merchant Fyodor Averin, who was entrusted with secret beer recipes by an Austrian acquaintance. A hidden stash containing a recipe book in German was discovered in 2012 during the building's foundation reinforcement. The recipes were translated and adapted to modern equipment, and today, unfiltered beer is brewed from natural malt and hops according to these recipes.

Home-brewed Beer and Infusions

The Plyos Beer House operates its own brewery. They brew four types of beer here:

1. “Plyos Classic” — a light beer with a smooth taste and a subtle hop aroma.
2. “Old Plyos Caramel” — an amber beer with caramel notes and a slightly sweet taste.
3. “Golden Plyos” — a light golden beer with a refreshing taste and a delicate hop aroma.
4. “Voznesenskoye” — a more robust beer with a bright aroma and a special blend of malts.

The restaurant also makes its own infusions: “Plyos”, horseradish, pepper, cranberry, strawberry, cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant, and spicy chokeberry. Several flavors can be sampled in a tasting set.

Veranda with a View of the Center of Plyos, the Volga, and Sunsets

The restaurant's veranda overlooks the historic center of Plyos and the Volga. Here, you can settle into soft chairs or at tables made of natural wood and relax with a view of the ancient streets and city buildings. The veranda is decorated with floral arrangements, lanterns, and wrought iron elements. It's especially beautiful here on summer evenings when the sun sets over the Volga, painting the sky and water in golden and pink hues.
