Where is Plyos
Plyos is located in the Ivanovo region, in the Privolzhsky district, on the right bank of the Volga River. The town is situated in the northern part of the region, on the Volga hills, at the mouth of the small Shokhonka River.
The nearest district center is Privolzhsk, about 16 km away. The regional center Ivanovo is about 69 km away, and Moscow is approximately 350–380 km away by road, depending on the route.

The distance from Vladimir to Plyos by road is 187 km, and in a straight line - 160 km. The estimated travel time between the cities of Vladimir and Plyos by car is 3 hours and 14 minutes.
By car
The distance from Vladimir to Plyos is 180 kilometers. There is a good road throughout the entire route. The trip takes 2.5 hours. The route passes through the city of Ivanovo.
Please note that during the tourist season, car traffic is restricted in the historical part of Plyos. A checkpoint with a barrier is installed at the main entrance, and other entrances are blocked. You will most likely have to leave your car in one of the parking lots (some are paid) and walk to the Volga. We have written more about this on the page how to get to Plyos by car.
By bus
There are no direct bus routes from Vladimir to Plyos. You will need to make one transfer in the city of Ivanovo.
- A scheduled bus runs from Vladimir to Ivanovo every hour, daily. The journey takes 2.5 hours. The cost of the trip starts from 300 rubles.
- From Ivanovo to Plyos, buses run every 1-2 hours daily. The bus departs from the Ivanovo bus station. It stops at the railway station along the way to pick up passengers. Some routes start from the railway station. Check the current schedule and prices on the Ivanovo bus station page. The journey takes about 2 hours. The cost is about 250 rubles.
Please note that tickets for interregional bus routes are purchased with a passport!
Keep in mind that buses are crowded during the high season. Buy tickets in advance. We recommend purchasing a return ticket upon arrival in Plyos at the bus station ticket office or online to ensure you have a seat and can travel back safely!
