In 40-50 minutes, the boat travels along the picturesque banks of the Volga from the Milovka estate to the ruins of the old brick wall, revealing stunning views to tourists and allowing them to enjoy the beauty of this magical town.
In Plyos, the Volga appears in its utmost splendor, like a true fairy-tale beauty. From the deck of the boat, magnificent views of Plyos unfold: all seven of its hills, ancient churches, merchant mansions, and modern guesthouses. The cruise is accompanied by an engaging audio tour that brings each landmark on the route to life.
The boat is equipped with a closed salon with comfortable seats, a restroom, and an upper open deck where you can enjoy the views. In cool weather, the caring staff of the boat provides blankets to make the journey as comfortable as possible. Cruises are conducted with at least seven adult passengers and depart every hour from the "Dana" pier. The width of the Volga at this point is about 700 meters, and the route length is about 5 kilometers, of which 3 kilometers run along the Plyos embankment.
On this route, you will see the majestic seven hills of Plyos, the former president Medvedev's dacha "Milovka", a ski slope, the ruins of the Red Wall, the meeting place of Levitan and Kuvshinnikova, and beautiful merchant houses lining the entire Plyos embankment.
Plyos becomes especially enchanting at sunset, when the last rays of the sun paint the town in golden hues, creating an indescribable atmosphere.
The Volga, not the highway from Moscow, is the artery along which Plyos is built and onto which its unique facade opens. It was from the Volga that Plyos was first seen by its most significant guests: traveler Afanasy Nikitin, artist Isaac Levitan, and Russian presidents Boris Yeltsin and Dmitry Medvedev. Levitan's acquaintance with Plyos became an important milestone in the town's history. The artist saw in Plyos a symbol of the Russian province, a generalized image of the Motherland. Impressed by the Volga facade of Plyos, academician Likhachev said that "the entire area of the town of Plyos on the Volga" is an outstanding landscape that should be preserved as a cultural and natural heritage of Russia.
A river cruise on the Volga in Plyos is an immersion into a unique world where the river retains its pristine magnificence, powerful and full-flowing, with high wooded banks and church domes like beacons of the past. It's not just a walk, but a true journey into the heart of Russian nature that will remain in memory for a lifetime.
