Plyos is a small town in the Ivanovo region of Russia. It is located on the right bank of the Volga River, 70 kilometers northeast of the city of Ivanovo.
The distance from Ivanovo to Plyos is 69 kilometers. A good road will be throughout the entire route. The travel time is about 1 hour. Along the way, you will pass through the towns of Furmanov and Privolzhsk.
Keep in mind that during the tourist season, car traffic is restricted in the historical part of Plyos. A checkpoint with a barrier is installed at the main entrance, and other entrances are blocked. Most likely, you will have to leave your car at one of the parking lots (some paid) and walk to the Volga. We wrote more about this on the page how to get to Plyos by car.
A scheduled bus runs daily from Ivanovo to Plyos. The bus departs from the Ivanovo bus station. It stops at the railway station along the way to pick up passengers. Some routes start from the railway station. Check the current schedule and prices on the Ivanovo bus station page. The journey takes about 2 hours. The cost is about 360 rubles.
Keep in mind that buses are crowded during the high season. Buy tickets in advance. We recommend purchasing a return ticket upon arrival in Plyos at the bus station ticket office or online to ensure you have a seat and can travel back safely!
