Immerse yourself in the world of jewelry art at a workshop led by Dmitry Golubev, a jeweler with 30 years of experience and a member of the Union of Artists of Russia. In a cozy workshop located in an old merchant's house, you can create your own piece of jewelry and learn the intricacies of this craft.
The workshop takes place in an active jewelry workshop, where under the guidance of the master, you will learn the basic stages of work: metal melting, rolling, soldering, grinding, and polishing. As a result, you will create a stylish ring similar to a wedding band, without stones, but with the option to choose a shape from the offered variants. If desired, you can engrave a commemorative inscription on the finished piece – text or drawing of your choice.
The workshop format allows for individual or paired work. Several people can attend as spectators. There is also another option to participate – observe the process while the master crafts a ring and gifts it to one of the guests, explaining all the stages of the work along the way.
The workshop is located in the house of merchant Fyodor Afanasyevich Fomichev, built in the early 19th century. Artists Isaac Levitan and Sofia Kuvshinnikova, who were friends with the Fomichev family, visited here. After the workshop, you can stroll through the blooming garden with terraces and alpine slides.
This workshop requires no special preparation and is suitable even for those who have never worked with metal. It is especially interesting for couples who want to create wedding rings with their own hands, investing them with special meaning. It's more than just jewelry – these are symbols of feelings created together.
Jewelry making is an art that requires patience, precision, and inspiration. Over two hours, you will immerse yourself in this world and create a piece that will stay with you for many years.
In Plyos and its surroundings – the villages of Sidorovskoye, Krasnoye-na-Volge, and the town of Privolzhsk (formerly the village of Yakovlevskoye) – a large number of hereditary jewelers live and work, with jewelry factories and large workshops. Jewelry art is a native craft of Plyos and its surroundings, with roots going back to ancient times. Archaeological research shows that jewelry making in this area dates back to before the Tatar-Mongol invasion. The main direction is artistic metalwork. Historically, the technique of filigree dominated, where the piece is made by intertwining thin wire elements into complex patterns.
For all guests of the jewelry workshop, a tour of the picturesque blooming garden at the house is included. The garden is personally tended by the owners: Dmitry designs artistic compositions, while his wife Marina selects plant varieties.
This is a true "continuous blooming" garden, with new plants blooming every day, replacing each other. The garden features both decorative and useful plants, with the blooming period lasting from March to late autumn. In early spring, it is especially impressive, with blooming flower beds covering the ground so densely that there is sometimes nowhere to step.
Marina is a professional botanist. She participates in scientific expeditions and brings back rare varieties from botanical gardens and the wild. She will gladly give you a small tour, tell you about the flora of Plyos, and show you the most striking plants, perfect for beautiful photographs.
