Coffee at Grandma's
Among the ancient streets of Plyos hides one of the most unusual and cozy attractions — the “Izba-Coffeehouse”. In this small yet cozy corner, modern coffee culture meets grandma's coziness and family recipes.
The Izba-Coffeehouse is located in a real Russian hut, where every corner holds memories of the past. The stove, wooden walls, traditional utensils — everything here reminds you of what a Russian home was like in bygone days. Here, modernity intertwines with grandma's coziness, creating an atmosphere where time seems to stand still.
Kitchen
The pies, prepared according to old grandma's recipes, deserve special attention. Among them, you can find braided pies with raspberries and dried apricots, as well as “half pies” with traditional Plyos fillings: sorrel, onion with egg, and cabbage. These pies transport you to a time when food was made with care and love, and every bite brought joy and comfort.
An equally interesting treat is the kolobok, inspired by the English scone. This dessert is served with thick Devonshire cream made with mascarpone and strawberry jam. It has become a kind of bridge between Russian and English culinary traditions, combining the best flavors of both cuisines.
However, the most unusual dish is undoubtedly the signature comfort — a kind of hot dog without a sausage, but with Tambov ham and Kostroma cheese. This dish reflects the coffeehouse's desire to create new, unique flavor combinations that surprise and delight guests.
