The history of the "Plyos Artists' Community" began in 2004, but the first steps towards its creation were made back in 2000, when the first exhibition "Plyos Attraction" was held at the Landscape Museum. This project became a gathering point for artists already part of the Union of Artists and the Creative Union of Artists of Russia. After the official formation of the Community, creative life flourished: joint exhibitions, studies, television stories, and even a documentary film "Nonlinear History in the Lap of Nature."
The year 2024 is special for the "Plyos Artists' Community" — the organization celebrates its 20th anniversary. On this occasion, the fifth exhibition "Plyos Attraction" opens at the Landscape Museum. The anniversary exhibition features the work of 36 authors. In addition to paintings and graphic works, visitors can admire unique jewelry pieces.
A special place in the exhibition is occupied by works from the collection of the Plyos Museum-Reserve, created by masters whose names have long been associated with the city's history. Over the years, Community members have donated about 20 significant works to the museum's collection, including works by Valery Beregov, Nikolai and Alexander Charugin, Galina Sevastyanova, Vitaly Panchenko, and others.
Plyos has long been a source of inspiration for artists from various cities — from metropolises to small towns. Cozy and picturesque, it enchants everyone who visits it at least once. For many masters, it is not just a stop on their creative journey: some decide to settle here permanently, some regularly return to work in nature, and some were born and raised in this amazing atmosphere.
