The exhibition "Flowers for Vadim" is a tribute to the outstanding Russian film director and teacher, People's Artist of Russia Vadim Yusupovich Abdrashitov (1945–2023). This poignant project was created by his wife — a recognized master of painting, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation, and academician of the Russian Academy of Arts, Natella Georgievna Toidze.
Natella Toidze is a representative of a renowned artistic dynasty, a laureate of the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts, and one of the brightest figures in contemporary painting. Her works are distinguished by an expressive synthesis of post-impressionism and avant-garde with a deeply felt school of Moscow and Georgian traditions. Bold in color choice, subtly poetic in mood, and incredibly sincere in her approach to nature, the artist creates richly emotional canvases where the viewer becomes not just a witness but a participant in an inner dialogue.
The exhibition features large-scale still lifes and landscapes, where painting becomes a language of memory, love, and artistic expression. These "flowers" are a symbolic and metaphorical gift from the artist to her life partner, with whom they were not only a family but also cultural companions for decades.
Natella Toidze's works are part of the collections of leading Russian museums: the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, and museums in Kaluga, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod, Vologda, Saransk, and Kaliningrad. Her works are also held in private collections in the USA, Germany, France, Portugal, Finland, Switzerland, and other countries.
Since 2021, the couple has been members of the board of trustees of the Plyos Museum-Reserve. Today, the museum, with deep respect and gratitude, presents the exhibition "Flowers for Vadim" — a bright, personal, and at the same time socially significant artistic memory of a great master.
