Attend a workshop at “Murava”

In the warm and cozy ceramics workshop on the Volga embankment, a fireplace crackles, pleasant music plays, and the air is filled with the scent of incense. Here, local resident Elena works, creating beautiful handmade souvenirs that she sells in the shop attached to the workshop. In her free time, she conducts ceramic painting workshops for the guests of Plyos.

During the class, you can paint a prepared form (a plate, mug, bowl, tile, or vase) and after firing, take the finished product the next day. The workshops are suitable for any skill level and will be interesting even for children.

However, this activity is not so much about the painting technique as it is about warm communication. The process is easy and relaxed, allowing you to truly unwind and enjoy creativity. While you paint, the hostess will share many interesting stories about ceramics, about Plyos, and life in this wonderful town. And when you leave, you will take with you not only a memorable souvenir created by your own hands but also a piece of Plyos inspiration - a small spark that seems to have been kindled in your soul.

Take a Look at “Starinnye Nahodki”

A small antique shop on the Volga embankment is a true treasure room. Under one roof, more than 8000 unique antique items are gathered: antique dishes, furniture, clocks, old household items, vintage clothing, and jewelry.

For 12 years now, the shop has been run by a local resident, Marina. She finds the most unusual, rare, and mysterious items from the past. These items can not only decorate any interior but also become a true treasure in your home, a keeper of memories and stories passed down from generation to generation.

Grab coffee and desserts at the café near the bus station

On your way to Sobornaya Hill, stop by the small café across from the bus station. For many years, this cozy spot under the sign “Coffee to Go” has been run by a local resident, Svetlana. She lives right in this house, where she has set up a small corner for the café and greets every guest with a smile as soon as she hears the bell ring when the door opens. Here, you can enjoy aromatic coffee, tea, or cocoa and indulge in delicious homemade pastries. You can also purchase small, charming souvenirs from Plyos at the café.

Take a walk with a local guide

To truly immerse yourself in the life of Plyos, past, present, and even a bit of the future, it's not enough to just talk to a local. You need to walk through Plyos with them. Hear stories about what the town was like in Levitan's time, how people lived on the Volga, what they did, thought, and dreamed about. Discuss local news, share the joy of gazing at the landscapes, and see even more than you could on your own.

The best way to do this is with the local guide Mikhail. He has been conducting tours since 2002 and has probably done it a thousand times. Mikhail knows exactly how to inspire you with Plyos, so that this energy stays with you for many days after the walk.

Ride ATVs with “KvadroPlyos”

If regular walks and tours around Plyos seem boring to you, try riding the same routes on ATVs! The "7 Hills of Plyos" route will take you to the main viewpoints of the city, and your guide will be a local resident, Vladimir, who has been organizing ATV tours for over five years.

During the stops, he will share fascinating stories about his city, turning the trip into a real adventure full of discoveries and vivid impressions. Besides Plyos, you can go for rides through forests and fields — anywhere you like! There are plenty of routes, all adapted to different levels of difficulty and any weather, so you can enjoy active outdoor recreation even in autumn and winter.
