The "Upper Pond" Park in Plyos is a modern public space that has become a true attraction point for the upper part of the city. Opened in 2019 after a major renovation, the park immediately won the hearts of local residents and visitors to Plyos, becoming a popular place for walks, relaxation, and socializing.
Until recently, the area was abandoned and did not attract attention. However, with the advent of the federal program for creating a comfortable urban environment, Plyos was able to obtain the necessary funds to transform this area into a full-fledged park. The renovation carried out in 2019 was the result of the work of a large number of specialists and active city residents. As part of the project, an area of more than 7.5 hectares was landscaped, which was a truly ambitious step for a small town.
The park now features modern pedestrian paths, benches, trash cans, an event stage, children's and sports playgrounds, a skate park, as well as gazebos and new lighting. This has created a multifunctional space that harmoniously fits into the historical appearance of the city. As noted by local residents and experts, the park has become a necessary attraction point for the townspeople, especially for the residents of the upper part of Plyos.
Special attention in the park is given to the pond itself, which received a new lease on life after reconstruction. The "Upper Pond," also known as "Karasyov," has become home to numerous ducks. Every spring, ducklings appear here, and both locals and tourists enjoy watching them. The pond attracts nature lovers who come here to feed the birds and enjoy the tranquility of the water's surface.
The pond is equipped with piers for fishing. This is a favorite pastime for many residents who often gather here to spend time outdoors and discuss the news. Nature, solitude, and the gentle splash of water create ideal conditions for relaxation and reflection.
The park has become a real gift for families with children. The modern playground with swings, slides, sandboxes, and other play elements is extremely popular with local children. Parents note that after a long day at kindergarten or school, children are eager to go to the playground to spend a few more hours there.
But it's not just children who find entertainment in the park. For lovers of active recreation, a skate park was created where young people can skate on skateboards and rollerblades. For those who prefer more peaceful activities, there are walking paths where one can stroll, enjoying the views and fresh air.
The park has also become an important cultural center of Upper Plyos. Various events are held here: festivals, concerts, theatrical performances, exhibitions, and fairs. The venue, created specifically for hosting mass events, allows for events that previously could not have been held in the historical part of the city due to limited space. This has made the park not only a place for relaxation but also an important element of Plyos's cultural life.
