How to drive to Plyos

All the ways to drive into the historic part of the city through the barrier in a private car.
22.08.2024

During the tourist season from May 1 to November 1, car traffic is restricted in the historical part of Plyos. This measure helps free the embankment from a large number of guest vehicles and allows for full enjoyment of pedestrian walks around Plyos.

Tourists are encouraged to leave their cars in a paid parking lot in the upper part of the city and walk to the attractions.

How to Pass Through the Barrier

  1. You have a hotel or guesthouse reservation in Plyos. If you have a reservation beyond the barrier, you must be allowed through. Note that this information is checked on-site, and you cannot deceive the security with a fake reservation;
  2. You may be met by local friends or acquaintances. If you have friends or acquaintances in Plyos whom you are visiting, they can meet you or call the checkpoint, providing the staff with your car number for a pass;
  3. Choose the right time. You may pass through the barrier if you arrive in Plyos on a weekday when there are fewer cars, and you might be allowed through.

Do not look for alternative routes to drive onto the embankment. All accesses are blocked by concrete blocks! You can park as close as possible to the embankment in places on Karl Marx Street or Levitan Hill.

Understand that the restriction of car traffic is a necessary measure by the city administration. Thousands of guest cars from different regions arrive in Plyos every weekend. Imagine what it would be like if all these cars were parked on the embankment? It would create chaos and major traffic jams.
