How to get from Moscow to Plyos

The journey from Moscow to Plyos is a route through several regions of Russia and usually covers 370 kilometers, taking about 5-6 hours by car depending on traffic conditions and the route.

Plyos is a small town in the Ivanovo region of Russia. It is located on the right bank of the Volga River, 70 kilometers northeast of the city of Ivanovo.

You can reach Plyos from Moscow via the Yaroslavsky or Gorkovsky highways.

Via the Yaroslavsky Highway

On the Yaroslavsky Highway, you will pass through the tourist cities of Pereslavl-Zalessky, Rostov, Yaroslavl, and Kostroma. The travel time is about 5 hours and 30 minutes. The distance to Plyos is 390 km. The road is good throughout the entire route.

Via the Gorkovsky Highway

On the Gorkovsky Highway, you will pass through Vladimir, Suzdal, and Ivanovo. The travel time is about 5 hours and 30 minutes. The distance to Plyos is 360 km. The road is good throughout the entire route.

Please note that during the tourist season, car traffic is restricted in the historical part of Plyos. There is a checkpoint with a barrier at the main entrance to the city, and other entrances are blocked. There are no direct train routes from Moscow to Plyos. The most convenient way is to make two transfers in the cities of Ivanovo and Privolzhsk.

1. From Moscow to Ivanovo, the high-speed train Lastochka departs several times a day. The travel time is 3 hours and 40 minutes. Ticket prices start from 900 rubles. Buy a ticket on the RZD website
2. In Ivanovo, transfer to the Orlan train to the city of Privolzhsk (30 km from Plyos). The train is synchronized with the Moscow Lastochka, so the transfer will not be long. The travel time to Privolzhsk is 1 hour. Buy a ticket on the RZD website
3. From Privolzhsk to Plyos, it is best to take a taxi. The cost is 400 rubles. The travel time is about 20 minutes.

As a result, if you take the first Lastochka from Moscow at 7 am, you will be in Plyos by 12:30 pm! 

We couldn't find any direct bus routes from Moscow to Plyos. The only option is to transfer in Ivanovo. Buses depart from Moscow's central bus station every 30 minutes daily. The travel time is about 5 hours. Ticket prices start from 750 rubles. From Ivanovo bus station to Plyos, buses run daily every 1-2 hours.

Keep in mind that buses are crowded during the high season. Buy tickets in advance. We recommend purchasing a return ticket upon arrival in Plyos at the bus station or online to ensure you have a seat and can return safely!

You can travel from Moscow to Plyos by cruise ship. Numerous travel options are available from different companies, on various dates and ships.

You can reach Plyos by taxi. Through the Yandex Go service, the cost of the trip will be from 11,000 rubles. The distance from Moscow to Plyos is 360 km. The travel time is 5 hours.

Of all the ways to get from Moscow to Plyos, flying is the least optimal. There are no direct flights between these cities. The nearest airport is 70 kilometers away. We recommend using another mode of transport.

You can fly from Moscow to Plyos by helicopter. This will be the fastest and most convenient way. The flight duration is 240 minutes (4 hours). The cost is about 200,000 rubles.
